Which solar panels can I wire into my CTEK's solar charge controller?

When you have a newer vehicle fitted with a smart alternator, you will probably use the CTEK D250SA as your battery to battery charger, taking the place of a split charger in older set ups.

One of the great advantages to this, other than it's superior charging profiles, is that it has a built in MPPT solar charge controller. Which can save you quite a lot of money and space further down the line.

The CTEKs MPPT controller is great for panels up to 250W and with a maximum open circuit voltage of 23V. So this would rule out panels which are a "nominal 24V" solar panel.

From our current range, (May 2020), The CTEK will accept the input of our Victron 115W rigid solar panel and the 175W rigid panel. Both the 150W flexible panel and the 215W panel are 24V units, so would need their own stand alone controller and are not suitable for pairing with the CTEK D250SA.

Thanks for reading. Have a great day.
